From a young age, Valerie was proud to be Jewish, even though she was not quite sure what she believed. Yearning to be a rock star at the age of 18, Valerie flew to London to join a band, but quickly realized that the music scene was not what she thought it would be. It was there that she found herself in an abusive relationship, and she began to spiral into a deep depression. She decided to return to Judaism, but found that she could not relate to God on a personal level.
