Yelena Brandman
As a child in the Soviet Union, Yelena Brandman did not know much about love. Growing up in a Bukharan Jewish family in Tashkent, she saw how her parents’ arranged marriage left them unable to love one another, though they did the best they could. When a beautifully illustrated book about the life of Yeshua fell into her hands, the sight of a love that would die for a stranger convinced her the love she had always searched for was already hers.
